KANDRA – The body of a 25-year-old man was discovered near the Sini-Kandra rail line on Thursday morning, causing shock and concern in the area.

The deceased, identified as Swarup Mandal, was found by a gangman near pole number 394/S4, with his motorcycle parked a short distance away.

Mandal’s head was found separated from his torso at the site.

The incident was reported to the Kandra station master and RPF, who then alerted local police.

Family members, including the victim’s uncle, later confirmed the body’s identity as that of Swarup Mandal, a Dumra resident who had left home earlier, saying he was going to refuel his bike.

Mandal had been married just six months ago.

Police are currently investigating whether this is a case of accident or suicide.
