    MEDININAGAR – The Chhath Mahaparv, a revered festival of Sun worship and devotion, concluded in Palamu as devotees prayed to the rising sun for peace, happiness, and prosperity.

This four-day festival began on Tuesday with the Nahay-Khay ritual and concluded on Friday as devotees offered Arghya (ritual offerings) to the rising sun. Key locations in the district featured Ganga Aarti and devotional gatherings, enhancing the festival’s spiritual atmosphere.

Masses of devotees gathered at riverbanks, including the Koel, Amanat, Guruti, and other rivers. Medininagar city saw significant turnout at Pumpukal Ghat, Insaniyat Ghat, and Shri Chitragupt Temple. Local authorities provided extensive security, while community organizations helped keep the ghats clean and well-lit.

Officials Partake in Festivities

Palamu Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, along with his mother, offered prayers at Pumpukal Ghat. “Chhath brings us a message of unity and togetherness,” he remarked, emphasizing its cultural importance. Superintendent of Police Reeshma Rameshan also participated in the rituals at Amanat River’s Singra Ghat, noting the festival’s role in promoting social harmony.
