RANCHI – Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has finalized its candidates for two key constituencies in the upcoming elections, ending widespread speculation.
The JMM has selected Ganesh Mahali as its candidate for the Seraikela constituency, squashing earlier rumors that either Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren or his wife Kalpana Soren might run from the seat.
Mahali, a former BJP candidate who contested the 2019 elections on the BJP ticket, will now represent JMM.
He is scheduled to submit his nomination papers on Friday.
Reports suggest that CM Hemant Soren might personally participate in Mahali’s nomination process.
Meanwhile, the ruling JMM has also announced Ramsurya Munda as its candidate for the Khunti constituency.
These developments come as part of JMM’s strategic moves ahead of the assembly elections.
Mahali’s switch from BJP to JMM reflects the ongoing political re-alignments in the state, which could influence voter sentiment.
