JAMSHEDPUR – Surya Mandir Committee hosted the Vijaya Milan to outline plans for Chhath and Diwali celebrations.
The Surya Mandir Committee, Sidgora, held a Vijaya Milan event at Shankh Maidan on Tuesday, chaired by Bhupendra Singh, the committee president. Odisha Governor Raghubar Das was the chief guest. Numerous officials and thousands of members attended.
During the meeting, it was decided to celebrate Chhath with a focus on cleanliness and purity. Key preparations include cleaning the ponds, filling them with fresh water, and decorating the temple premises with flowers and lights. The event will feature a grand cultural evening, and famous artists have been contacted for performances.
Governor Raghubar Das highlighted the cultural significance of Chhath and urged devotees to maintain the festival’s sanctity by observing cleanliness and discipline. He emphasized that Chhath celebrates nature and inspires devotion, purity, and order in life. He prayed for blessings from the Sun God for prosperity and peace.
Additionally, the committee will organize a grand Diwali celebration with 11,000 lamps and fireworks at the Shri Ram Mandir and Surya Mandir complexes. The festival will also involve significant public participation, with devotees contributing donations voluntarily.
Organizers named Kamlesh Singh as the coordinator for the 2024 Chhath festival. Other officials were appointed for tasks like managing cultural programs, distributing Prasad, and overseeing decorations and traffic arrangements.
