JAMSHEDPUR – Local police recover undocumented cash during intensified vehicle checks near Kesharpur, targeting vehicles entering from neighboring states.
Police conducted a routine vehicle inspection at Kesharpur check post.
They recovered Rs 94,900 from a pickup van late Friday night.
The vehicle was registered under JH 12 E 5922 and belonged to a Koderma resident.
Another vehicle was also stopped during the same inspection.
Rs 1 lakh was found in this second vehicle.
However, the driver provided legitimate documents for the amount.
Consequently, he was released without further action.
Meanwhile, police have intensified checks along the Galudih-Narsinghpur route.
They are particularly focusing on vehicles coming from West Bengal.
This increased scrutiny follows recent cash seizures in the area.
On Thursday, Rs 2.36 lakh was recovered from a pickup van.
This vehicle belonged to a West Bengal resident.
In another incident, Rs 2.39 lakh was found in a vehicle from Baharagora.
The police aim to curb illegal cash transportation through these checkpoints.
These seizures highlight the ongoing efforts to maintain financial transparency.
