Police Issue Proclamation for Sonari Absconding Rape Accused
Notice Pasted on PK Gaikwad’s home as court declares him fugitive
Sonari police affix court proclamation at rape suspect’s residence, urging his surrender within 30 days to avoid property attachment.
JAMSHEDPUR – Local authorities take action against PK Gaikwad, accused of sexual exploitation, as he evades arrest.
Sonari police have posted a court-issued proclamation at the residence of PK Gaikwad, who is accused of rape and sexual exploitation.
The proclamation, affixed at Gaikwad’s Sonari Khuntadih home, declares him an absconder and demands his appearance in court.
A woman named S Devi had filed a case on April 1, accusing Gaikwad of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage and forced abortion.
"We’ve followed all legal procedures before issuing this proclamation," stated a Sonari police source having knowledge about the case.
Authorities report that Gaikwad has ignored multiple notices, prompting the court to declare him a fugitive.
The proclamation has also been displayed in public areas to aid in the accused’s apprehension.
If Gaikwad fails to surrender within the specified timeframe, the court may order the attachment of his property.
This action aligns with the Section 84 of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, detailing procedures for dealing with absconding accused.
