JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department successfully organized an Inter-Divisional Volleyball and Throwball Tournament at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The three-day event took place from October 16 to 18.
Moreover, the tournament saw enthusiastic participation from 360 employees across 16 Tata Steel units.
P S S Ganesh, Chief Hot Strip Mill, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Furthermore, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Vice Chairman of Tata Workers’ Union, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The men’s volleyball competition showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship.
Additionally, the Steel Manufacturing team emerged victorious in a display of prowess.
Tata Steel Kalinganagar secured the runner-up position in men’s volleyball.
Meanwhile, West Bokaro claimed the second runner-up spot in the tournament.
In the women’s throwball category, the Iron Making team clinched the top position.
"This event fosters camaraderie among our workforce," remarked an organizer.
They added, "It’s a platform for employees to showcase their sporting talents."
The General Office team was adjudged as runners-up in women’s throwball.
On the other hand, the Shared Services team secured the second runner-up position.
Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports among employees was evident throughout the event.
In addition, the tournament provided a platform for healthy competition and skill development.
Several technical officials, including Ananto Santara and Supriya Dubey, oversaw the matches.
However, the true winners were the spirit of sportsmanship and employee engagement displayed.
