JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar has accused the BJP of obstructing welfare efforts aimed at helping the poor.
The senior Congress leader made these allegations in a press statement on Friday.

Moreover, he cited the BJP’s complaint against distributing jerseys to underprivileged children.
"This shows their attempt to hinder social work," Dr. Kumar stated.
Furthermore, he criticized the BJP for challenging the Maiya Samman Yojana in court.
The scheme aims to benefit disadvantaged groups in the region.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kumar accused the BJP of making empty promises about poverty alleviation.
"This is BJP’s true face," he remarked, highlighting the party’s alleged double standards.
Additionally, the Congress leader claimed he was being personally targeted by the BJP.
He mentioned a complaint filed with the NGT seeking demolition of poor families’ homes.
On the other hand, Dr. Kumar attributed these actions to the BJP’s electoral concerns.
"They fear losing ground in Jamshedpur East," he asserted.
A local political observer noted, "These allegations could significantly impact voter perceptions."
Dr. Kumar vowed to continue his work for the underprivileged despite the alleged smear campaign.
