Key Points:

• Jusco Shramik Union renamed to Tata Steel UISL Shramik Union

• Number of office bearers reduced from 12 to 10

• Employee donations increased from 3% to 4% of basic salary

JAMSHEDPUR – The authorized union for Tata Steel UISL implements sweeping changes in its structure and operations.

The Jusco Shramik Union has undergone a major transformation following its recent general meeting.

Moreover, the union has officially adopted a new name: Tata Steel UISL Shramik Union.

This change reflects the organization’s evolving identity and alignment with its parent company.

Furthermore, the union has streamlined its leadership structure to enhance efficiency.

The number of office bearers has been reduced from 12 to 10 in a strategic move.

"We’ve eliminated one Assistant Secretary and one Vice President position," explained a union spokesperson.

In addition, the committee size has been trimmed from 23 to 17 members.

Meanwhile, new election rules have been established to ensure fair representation.

Office bearers and committee members will now serve three-year terms with concurrent elections.

"These changes were necessary for our union’s growth," stated Raghunath Pandey, the union president.

On the other hand, the provision for co-option has been modified to allow only one individual.

This individual can be co-opted for either the President or General Secretary position.

Interestingly, the union has also addressed its financial structure during the meeting.

Employee donations have been increased from 3% to 4% of their basic salary annually.

"We’re committed to transparency and fiscal responsibility," emphasized a union official.
