JAMSHEDPUR – The demolition of a welcome gate in Hill View Colony has triggered a political storm, with allegations of conspiracy and misuse of power.
Ricky Keshari, aide to Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, raised alarm over the incident.
He suggested State Health Minister Banna Gupta’s potential involvement in the demolition.
The gate, built in 2016 using MLA funds, was torn down recently.
Keshari termed the act "highly objectionable" in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner.
He alleged misuse of government funds and questioned the demolition’s authorization.
Moreover, Mango Municipal Corporation officials denied issuing any demolition orders.
Keshari claimed the municipal corporation might be under Minister Gupta’s influence.
The demolition’s timing coincided with the announcement of assembly elections.
It also aligned with the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in Jharkhand.
Furthermore, Keshari demanded immediate re-installation of the gate.
He urged the DC to identify and take action against those responsible.
A local resident commented, "This incident has heightened political tensions in the area."
The controversy highlights the charged atmosphere preceding the upcoming elections.
It also underscores the complex dynamics between local and state-level politics.
Officials have yet to respond to the allegations and demands raised by Keshari.
