JAMSHEDPUR – The Election Commission of India is expected to declare the dates for the Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly elections today.

The term of the current Jharkhand Legislative Assembly ends on January 5, 2025, while Maharashtra’s term concludes on November 26, 2024.

Recently, the Election Commission’s team, led by the Chief Election Commissioner, visited Jharkhand and consulted with various political parties.

Leaders emphasized the need to schedule the election after November 15, following the celebration of key festivals like Diwali, Chhath, and Jharkhand Foundation Day.

Meanwhile, preparations for the elections have been completed.

The official announcement regarding the election schedule is expected during a press conference at 3:30 PM.

Political parties and candidates across both states are awaiting the Election Commission’s decision to begin their campaigns.
