JAMSHEDPUR – Local authorities inspected ghats and reviewed preparations for the immersion of Durga idols across Jamshedpur.
Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted inspections at several ghats in Jamshedpur.
The officials visited Swarnrekha Ghat, Dobo Ghat, Domuhani Ghat, Sati Ghat, Vidyut Sub-station Ghat, and Beli Bodhanwala Ghat.
They assessed administrative arrangements and expressed satisfaction with the preparations.
The authorities reviewed various aspects of the immersion process at each ghat.
These included electrical setups, barricading, cleanliness, deployment of divers, and availability of life jackets.
Medical teams with ambulances were also positioned at the ghats.
The officials examined immersion routes, danger zones, traffic management, and parking facilities.
Necessary instructions were given to concerned officers to ensure smooth proceedings.
While some committees performed immersions on Saturday, most are expected to do so on Sunday.
The Deputy Commissioner directed zonal magistrates to inspect their duty stations.
He emphasized addressing any shortcomings in arrangements immediately.
“We aim to facilitate peaceful and orderly idol immersions,” stated an official source.
Enhanced Security Measures
The Senior Superintendent of Police outlined the security arrangements for the immersion ghats.
Drones, CCTV cameras, and videography will be used for surveillance during the immersions.
Magistrates and police personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order.
“We urge devotees not to enter deep waters to prevent any accidents,” the SSP advised.
Authorities have appealed to puja committees to follow designated time slots for immersions.
They stressed the importance of adhering to specified routes and traffic regulations.
These measures aim to ensure smooth movement of devotees and prevent congestion.
Local Administration’s Role
Various district officials were present during the inspections.
These included the ADM (Law and Order), SDM Dhalbhum, and SP City, among others.
Representatives from Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and Jusco also participated.
The authorities have called for cooperation from all stakeholders to maintain peace and order.
They emphasized the need for a harmonious environment during the immersion process.
