JAMSHEDPUR – A national conference on circular economy and industrial by-product utilization drew experts from across India to discuss sustainable practices.
The two-day event took place at the SNTI auditorium on October 3 and 4.
Tata Steel, Indian Ceramic Society, and CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory jointly organized the conference.
The gathering focused on various aspects of industrial waste management and recycling.
Key topics included geopolymer technology, steel slag usage, and fly ash valorization.
Moreover, discussions covered red mud utilization and refractory waste recycling.
Dr. L. P. Singh, Director General of NCCBM Haryana, delivered the inaugural address.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhary, Director of CSIR-NML, emphasized circular economy approaches.
Dipankar Das Gupta, EIC IBMD Tata Steel, motivated participants with an inspirational talk.
Furthermore, the conference featured over 15 experts and 35 contributory papers.
Presentations came from various institutions, including IIT Kanpur, IIT KGP, and CSIR-IICT.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Scientist at CSIR-NML, highlighted the diverse participation.
In addition, industry professionals from HIL, Resustainability, TRL, and others contributed to discussions.
The event attracted more than 150 attendees, including postgraduate students and research scholars.
