A tractor was seized near the closed Hardev Singh brick kiln in Saldih, located within the Adityapur police station limits.
Another tractor, also loaded with illegally mined sand, was seized near the Jagannathpur-Bolaidih Road under Gamharia police station’s jurisdiction.
According to district mining officer Jyoti Shankar Satpati, the drivers of both tractors managed to escape from the scene during the raid.
Illegal sand mining has been a persistent issue in the region, particularly near the Kharkai River, where several instances of unauthorized extraction have been reported in the past.
Both seized tractors have been handed over to local police, and further legal proceedings are underway to curb this growing problem.
