JAMSHEDPUR – Dhullu Mahto paid Jamshedpur East MLA and JD (U) leader in kind today.
Irked by the latter’s opposition to his candidature from Dhanbad as a BJP candidate during the last Parliamentary elections, that he won handsomely anyway, Dhullu Mahto today decided to get even with Saryu Roy, by doing a nothing less but a ‘Saryu Roy’ on him.
Dhullu Mahto, despite Saryu Roy’s scathing attacks, had won the 2024 Indian general election in Jharkhand from Dhanbad Assembly constituency representing Bharatiya Janata Party.
He had polled 789,172 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Anupama Singh of Indian National Congress, by a margin of 331,583 votes
Today, while in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad MP Dullu Mahto decided to launch a scathing attack on Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy. During a visit to the city, he accused him of corruption and criminal connections.
Mahto attended a meeting organized by the Vaishya community in Jamshedpur on Monday.
The MP addressed the media, leveling serious allegations against Roy.
He branded the MLA as a corrupt politician, claiming his position as a public representative was a stain on society.
Mahto asserted that Roy falsely portrays himself as an innocent figure while being deeply corrupt.
“There isn’t a more tainted leader in all of Jharkhand than Saryu Roy,” declared a local BJP supporter at the event.
The Dhanbad MP accused Roy of protecting criminals and refusing to speak against them.
He alleged that Roy harbors a dislike for the OBC community, leading to baseless statements against their representatives.
Addressing Roy’s potential candidacy on a JD(U) ticket, Mahto dismissed the possibility of BJP support.
He urged alliance partners to recognize Roy’s true nature and advised against his selection as a candidate.
Mahto claimed to possess evidence of Roy’s misdeeds, promising to reveal them systematically.
The MP’s visit highlighted growing political tensions in the region ahead of upcoming elections.
Local political analysts suggest these allegations could significantly impact voter sentiment in Jamshedpur East.
