BJP Ally LJP Hints at Solo Contest in Jharkhand Polls

Chirag Paswan explores options despite BJP’s alliance announcement

Key Points:

• LJP (Ram Vilas) to contest Jharkhand assembly elections

• Party considers alliance or solo run, contradicting BJP’s statement

• BJP claims seat-sharing deal with AJSU and JD(U) nearly finalized

DHANBAD – Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan announced his party’s intention to contest the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.

The LJP leader’s statement came shortly after BJP’s alliance claims.

Moreover, Paswan revealed that all options, including a solo run, are under consideration.

This announcement contradicts recent statements from BJP leadership.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had previously declared a BJP alliance with AJSU and JD(U).

However, Paswan’s comments suggest potential discord within the NDA alliance in Jharkhand.

The LJP chief highlighted his party’s strong base in the state.

Furthermore, he emphasized Jharkhand’s historical connection to Bihar, his father’s political stronghold.

Paswan addressed reporters at Ranchi airport en route to a rally in Dhanbad.

Meanwhile, the LJP state unit is actively discussing various electoral strategies.

The party has already begun preparations for the upcoming polls.

Additionally, Paswan promised to announce LJP candidates soon.

On the other hand, BJP’s Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed a near-final seat-sharing agreement.

Sarma stated that discussions were ongoing for only "one or two seats".

The conflicting statements raise questions about the NDA’s unity in Jharkhand.

LJP’s potential solo run could impact the electoral dynamics in the state.
