JAMSHEDPUR – A local company has agreed to compensate the family of a worker who died in a tragic incident at their facility.
Steel Strips Wheels Ltd. in Govindpur has finally reached an agreement with the family of Jayprakash Sharma, who lost his life in a workplace accident. The company will provide ₹50 lakh as compensation.
Moreover, the victim’s wife will be offered employment after completing a year-long training program. The company has agreed to pay ₹1 lakh immediately, with the remaining amount to be disbursed after paperwork completion.
Furthermore, this decision came after extensive discussions between union leaders, representatives of protesting parties, and the company management.
Meanwhile, political parties including AJSU, JMM, and BJP had been demanding compensation for the bereaved family. Their leaders had been staging a sit-in protest outside the company gates.
In addition, union president Anand Bihari Dubey played a crucial role in the negotiations. The family members and union leaders expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
On the other hand, AJSU leader Appu Tiwari accused the company of operating like a dictatorship. He claimed that the company’s negligence towards safety measures led to such accidents.
The agreement was reached in the presence of the victim’s father, Gopal Sharma, and his brother. Several political leaders and hundreds of supporters were also present during the negotiations.
