EVM Awareness Drive Launched in East Singhbhum
Mobile chariot to demonstrate voting process across district

JAMSHEDPUR – A mobile campaign to familiarize voters with electronic voting machines has begun its journey across East Singhbhum district ahead of the 2024 Assembly Elections.
Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar inaugurated the EVM awareness chariot.
The initiative kicked off from the District Collectorate premises in Jamshedpur.
Moreover, District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Annay Mittal guided the awareness drive.
The campaign focuses on educating voters about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs.
Furthermore, the awareness chariot will traverse all assembly constituencies in the district.
Manish Kumar emphasized the importance of voter education at the launch event.
"This mobile demonstration van will operate until the official election announcement," Kumar stated.
In addition, the van will provide hands-on demonstrations using dummy ballot papers.
The campaign aims to ensure voters understand the entire voting process.
Besides the mobile van, static exhibition centers have been established at key locations.
These centers include the District Collectorate and Sub-divisional Office Dhalbhum.
Additionally, exhibits are set up at Ghatshila and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee.
Voters can directly interact with EVMs and VVPATs at these centers.
Meanwhile, security measures have been implemented for the mobile chariot’s journey.
Police forces, magistrates, and district personnel will accompany the van at every polling station.
Furthermore, Booth Level Officers and supervisors will be present during demonstrations.
Several key officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
Among them were ITDA Project Director Dipankar Chaudhary and ADM SOR Mahendra Kumar.
"This initiative empowers citizens to exercise their democratic rights confidently," remarked a local official.
