Two-week cleanliness drive starts ahead of Gandhi Jayanti

JAMSHEDPUR – South Eastern Railway has initiated its Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, aligning with Mahatma Gandhi’s upcoming birth anniversary.

The cleanliness drive will run from September 17 to October 2, 2024.

At the SER Headquarters in Garden Reach, a significant event took place.

General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra led the Swachhta Pledge ceremony.

Officers and staff members participated in this oath-taking event.

They committed to maintaining cleanliness in their workspaces and across India.

Meanwhile, a tree plantation program was organized near the Scouts & Guides Den.

Additional General Manager Soumitra Majumdar joined other senior officers in this green initiative.

The Swachhta Pakhwada is not limited to the headquarters alone.

All four divisions of SER are actively observing this cleanliness campaign.

Staff and officers across these divisions are engaging in various cleanliness drives.

"Cleanliness is next to godliness," remarked a participating railway employee.

The campaign aims to foster a culture of cleanliness among railway personnel.

In conclusion, this two-week initiative highlights SER’s commitment to Swachh Bharat Mission.
