JAMSHEDPUR – A young man’s death during an excise constable recruitment test in Jamshedpur has prompted calls for reform and financial assistance from political leaders.
BJP state executive member Kulwant Singh Bunty visited the family of Murmulla Surya, who died during the physical test.
The deceased was the eldest son of an impoverished family.
Bunty facilitated a phone conversation between the family and BJP legislative party leader Amar Bauri.
Bauri assured Rs 1 lakh assistance from the BJP.
Additionally, Odisha Governor Raghuvar Das promised Rs 1 lakh aid to the grieving family.
Bunty criticized the government for not modifying the recruitment process despite 15 previous deaths.
He emphasized that Surya was the sole breadwinner for his family.
The BJP leader called for aligning the hiring process with SSC GD norms or discontinuing it altogether.
Other BJP members, including Mahendra Rajak, Santosh Thakur, and Saurabh Srivastava, also met the bereaved family.
