JAMSHEDPUR – A 16-year-old boy was shot during an immersion procession near Barigora Railway Crossing.
The incident occurred late Thursday night in the Parsudih police station area.
Karan Kamat, a resident of Krishna Nagar, sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg.
Local residents immediately took him to Tata Motors Hospital.
However, due to the severity of his injury, he was later referred to TMH for advanced treatment.
The shooting took place around 11 PM when the procession reached Barigora Crossing.
According to eyewitnesses, a local resident M Singh, his son, and one B Singh arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire.
The three were apprehended by people present at the scene.
Meanwhile, there was also stone-pelting at a Tata Motors bus, resulting in broken windows.
The police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and have taken the suspects into custody for further questioning.
