JAMSHEDPUR – A group of former law enforcement professionals has united to create an organization dedicated to community service and support for retired officers.
The Retired Police Officers Welfare Association (RPOWA) was established on Sunday.
Jubilee Park hosted the inaugural meeting of this newly formed group.
The association’s primary goal is to enhance the well-being of retired police personnel.
Additionally, RPOWA aims to assist underprivileged communities in various sectors.
Health, education, and social work are key focus areas for the organization.
The group plans to motivate and support youth lacking educational opportunities.
They intend to guide these individuals towards learning and self-employment.
A coordination committee of five members was formed during the meeting.
Kamal Kishore, P.K. Singh, K.N. Mishra, Faizal Ahmed, and Madan Mohan Singh comprise this committee.
Their role involves overseeing the expansion of RPOWA across Jharkhand.
One member emphasized the association’s non-political nature and practical approach.
"Our focus is on uplifting those on society’s fringes," a committee representative stated.
Furthermore, the meeting saw participation from numerous retired police officers.
Notable attendees included Vishnudev Singh, R.N. Sharma, and Vijay Kumar Singh.
The formation of RPOWA showcases retired officers’ ongoing dedication to public service.
It also highlights the need for support systems for both ex-officers and disadvantaged groups.
This initiative aims to address social welfare gaps through targeted interventions.
