Ministers criticize BJP’s policies, highlight JMM achievements at packed conference
JMM leaders blast BJP’s focus on Bangladeshi intruders, question development claims, and welcome over 100 new members at Seraikela Town Hall conference.
SERAIKELA – At a crowded Seraikela Town Hall conference, JMM leaders welcomed new members, highlighted party accomplishments, and criticized BJP policies.
The Seraikela Town Hall recently hosted a significant workers’ conference by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which served to underscore the party’s expanding influence and its critique of the opposition’s policies.
Minister Deepak Birua occupied the spotlight, challenging the priorities of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He expressed skepticism regarding the BJP’s fixation on Bangladeshi intruders, arguing that their primary concern should be border security.
Birua questioned the BJP’s capacity to effect significant change, citing the deficiencies of previous administrations.
"How can we expect progress from a party that has consistently failed to deliver on its promises?" The audience was confronted by Birua.
The minister also expressed apprehensions regarding the Chief Minister of Assam’s relevance in addressing the distinctive challenges of Jharkhand, particularly in the area of tribal welfare.
Minister Ramdas Soren reiterated these sentiments, delivering a scathing critique of the BJP’s tenure in power.
He accused the party of not only failing to develop Jharkhand, but also of depleting its mineral resources and eroding its cultural heritage.
Soren cautioned that the tribal population would face severe repercussions if the current trajectory is allowed to persist.
On the other hand, the ministers emphasized the progressive policies that were implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, including the introduction of perpetual pensions for women beginning at the age of 21.
Membership Drive Success
The conference also served as a platform for a successful membership drive, with over 100 new members joining the JMM ranks.
Among the notable additions was former Congress District President Vishu Hembram, whose decision to switch allegiances was seen as a significant boost for the party.
Minister Deepak Birua personally welcomed the new members, presenting them with JMM badges in a symbolic gesture of inclusion.
Dr. Shubendra Mahato, the JMM District President, rallied the party workers, urging them to mobilize and demonstrate their strength to the opposition.
"Our growing numbers are a testament to the people’s faith in JMM’s vision for Jharkhand," Dr. Mahato declared.
Overwhelming Turnout
The Seraikela Town Hall was packed to capacity, with thousands of JMM supporters filling not only the venue but also spilling out onto the surrounding streets.
The enthusiastic crowd welcomed ministers and MLAs from across the Kolhan division with great fervor.
Prominent party members, including Sudhir Mahato, Vijay Mahato, Vasudev Mahato, and Sameer Mahato, were in attendance, underscoring the party’s strong local support base.
As the conference concluded, there was a palpable sense of unity and determination among the JMM ranks, setting the stage for what promises to be a fiercely contested assembly election in the near future.
