JAMSHEDPUR – A 38-year-old nurse, Shashi Kala Singh, lost her life in a tragic accident involving a 407 vehicle outside Khas Mahal Sadar Hospital in Parsudih, Jamshedpur.
The incident occurred as Nurse Singh and her husband were arriving for her night shift on a motorcycle.
A speeding 407 vehicle struck the couple, resulting in Shashi Kala Singh’s immediate death at the scene.
Her husband, Shailendra Prasad, sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Hospital staff and police rushed to the accident site upon receiving the news.
The victim’s body was taken to Sadar Hospital, while police detained the 407 vehicle and its driver.
Outraged by the incident, doctors and nurses at the hospital have completely halted their work, demanding compensation for the deceased’s family.
Shailendra Prasad, the injured husband, recounted that the 407 vehicle hit them as they were approaching the hospital.
Hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, are demanding a compensation of 50 lakh rupees and a government job for the victim’s family.
Nurse Rani Kumari Singh stated that all hospital operations will remain suspended until an agreement is reached on compensation and job provision for the deceased’s family.
The protest has brought all services at Sadar Hospital to a standstill, affecting patient care.
Local authorities are reportedly in discussions with hospital staff to resolve the situation and resume normal operations.
The incident has highlighted concerns about road safety near healthcare facilities in the area.
Community members have expressed sympathy for the victim’s family and support for the staff’s demands.
