DBMS Kadma Hosts ‘Abhivyakti Ki Udaan’ Poetry Competition

Annual Hindi poetry event highlights students’ talents in recitation, storytelling, and TED-Talks with a focus on bravery.

DBMS Kadma High School’s ‘Abhivyakti Ki Udaan’ featured diverse performances, celebrating Hindi literature with recitations and talks.

JAMSHEDPUR – The ‘Abhivyakti Ki Udaan’ Hindi poetry competition was recently held at the Kalakriti auditorium by DBMS Kadma High School, which featured the talents of students from Nursery to 12th grade.

The school management committee initiated the event with a ceremonial lamp lighting, which served as the foundation for a sequence of captivating performances.

The theme of "Veer Ras" or the spirit of fortitude was the focus of the students’ participation in TED-Talks, story readings, and solo and group poetry recitations.

The profundity and emotion that the young participants conveyed particularly impressed local educators Pratibha Singh, Neeta Ojha, and Shazia Qadir, who served as judges..

The event was attended by the school leadership, including Secretary Anita Ramakrishna, Treasurer Bhuvana Krishnan, Joint Treasurer Aruna Ravi, Principal Gurpreet Bhamra, and Vice Principals Suparna Rai and S. Sheerin, as well as coordinators, teachers, parents, and students.

The event’s success was ensured by Rani Kumari, the Head of the Hindi Department, who oversaw its organization.

Winners were announced across various categories:

  • Group Poetry Recitation: Nursery-D, UKG-A, 1-C, and 3-B.

  • Solo Poetry Recitation (Classes 5-6): 1st – Soumi Rai, 2nd – Vihaan Jain, 3rd – Zainab Khan.

  • Story Reading (Classes 7-8): 1st – Ishani Singh, 2nd – Arpita Sethi, 3rd – Asmi Kumari.

  • Poetry Recitation (Classes 9-10): 1st – Ozair Kazmi, 2nd – Ambhya Sharan, 3rd – Tanushk Chaudhary.

  • TED-Talk (Classes 11-12): 1st – Pavani Paul, 2nd – Alisha Maheen, 3rd – Archit Singh.

Principal Gurpreet Bhamra remarked, "The dedication and effort put in by the students were evident in their powerful recitations and presentations, making this event a celebration of Hindi literature."
