SERAIKELA – Nirmala Barelia, the Regional Joint Education Director of Kolhan, has died at 56 following a heart attack at her Gamharia residence.
Barelia suffered the cardiac event on Sunday evening and was rushed to Meditrina Hospital.
Doctors at the hospital declared her dead upon arrival.
The education official had recently been promoted to her position as Regional Joint Education Director.
Prior to her promotion, Barelia served as the District Education Officer of East Singhbhum.
In her previous role, she played a crucial part in achieving a top ranking for the district in matriculation results.
Under her guidance, East Singhbhum district achieved an impressive 94.07% pass rate this year.
Her sudden passing has deeply saddened the educational community in Jamshedpur.
