RANCHI – In a significant administrative reshuffle, Manjunath Bhajantri has been reappointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi.
Previously, Bhajantri served as the DC of Jamshedpur and was later appointed to Ranchi following his transfer. However, he was removed from the position just before the Jharkhand Assembly elections and replaced by Varun Ranjan.
With the formation of the new Jharkhand government, Bhajantri has been reinstated as Ranchi DC. Prior to his reappointment, he was serving as the CEO of JSLPS (Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society).
Meanwhile, Varun Ranjan, the outgoing Ranchi DC, has been appointed as the Director of Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (JIIDCO). This reshuffle marks a continuation of recent changes in key administrative roles in the state.
A JMM source said that Bhajantri’s tenure in Jamshedpur was marked by his focus on urban development and infrastructure projects. His reappointment as Ranchi DC reflects the government’s trust in his leadership for the state capital’s administration.
