Indian Navy team discovers wreckage; recovery efforts underway
The wreckage of the Alchemist Aviation trainer aircraft, missing for five days, has been located in Chandil Dam.
JAMSHEDPUR – A team from the Indian Navy has discovered the wreckage of the missing Alchemist Aviation trainer aircraft submerged in Chandil Dam near Vandih.
The recovery team has successfully extracted a portion of the aircraft from the water.
Complete retrieval of the wreckage is expected to take additional time due to challenging conditions.
A Navy spokesperson stated that they have the necessary equipment to handle heavy objects during the recovery process.
The aircraft disappeared shortly after taking off from Sonari Airport five days ago.
A coordinated search effort involving the NDRF, local administration, and forest department had been ongoing since Tuesday.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Chandil, Subhra Rani, commended the tireless efforts of the search teams.
On Thursday, the bodies of trainee pilot Shubhrodeep Dutta and instructor pilot Jeet Shatru Anand were recovered from the reservoir.
Mrinal Paul, MD of Alchemist Aviation, expressed commitment to completing the recovery process despite the tragic confirmation.
The discovery of the wreckage marks a significant development in the search operation.
Authorities are working diligently to retrieve the entire aircraft from the dam.
