The body of Captain Jeet Shatru Anant, the second pilot of the missing training aircraft, was found in Chandil Dam, concluding the search operation.

JAMSHEDPUR – The body of Captain Jeet Shatru Anant, the second pilot of the missing training aircraft, was recovered from Chandil Dam.

The search for the missing training aircraft from Jamshedpur’s Sonari Airport reached a conclusion as the body of Captain Jeet Shatru Anant, the second pilot, was recovered from Chandil Dam.

Earlier, the body of trainee pilot Subhradip Dutta was also found near Kalyanpur village, in the Chandil Dam area.

A fisherman discovered Dutta’s body, leading to a wave of grief among his family members.

The aircraft had lost contact with air traffic control just 15 minutes after taking off from Sonari Airport.

Both pilots had been missing since Tuesday.

The Jamshedpur district administration, along with the Seraikela district administration, had been conducting continuous search operations in the area.

Additionally, a 15-member team from the Indian Navy arrived from Hyderabad on Thursday at around 4:30 AM to assist in the rescue operations.

Search Operations and Recovery

The Navy team, equipped with hydrocell machines and other advanced equipment, began the search for Captain Jeet’s body and the wreckage of the plane in the dam.

Their efforts were part of a coordinated operation led by local authorities.

Earlier, a 16-member NDRF team from Patna had joined the rescue efforts but had been unable to locate the aircraft.

The situation had drawn the attention of state officials, with the MLA of Ichagarh, Savita Mahato, closely monitoring the operation.

State Involvement

On Wednesday, the Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration had reached out to Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, requesting Navy assistance in the search efforts.

Acting promptly, the Navy deployed a special team to Ranchi, from where they were quickly transported to Chandil.

The discovery of Subhradip Dutta’s body had already diminished hopes of finding Captain Jeet alive, a fact acknowledged by many involved in the search.

Captain Jeet Shatru Anant’s recovery marks the tragic end of an exhaustive search and rescue operation.

“The coordinated efforts of local authorities and the Navy were commendable, though the outcome is a solemn reminder of the dangers faced by those in aviation,” remarked an official involved in the search.
