Palamu: 22 Thieves and a Goldsmith Arrested in Massive Police Operation
Police Nab 11 Men, 11 Women, and a Goldsmith in Connection with Theft Cases Across the City.
In a major crackdown on theft, police arrested 22 individuals, including 11 men and 11 women, from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, along with a goldsmith who was involved in purchasing stolen gold.
PALAMU – Acting on the orders of SP Rishma Ramesan, police launched a large-scale operation resulting in the arrest of 22 thieves and one goldsmith, who had been purchasing stolen gold from them.
The arrested individuals, hailing from Guna district in Madhya Pradesh, were involved in a series of thefts under the guise of selling toys and balloons.
They would scout homes and later break into them to commit theft.
The police seized ₹48,500 in cash, two large screwdrivers, three torches, three slingshots, three iron rods, one iron die, eight mobile phones, silver items, and equipment used for inflating balloons from the arrested individuals.
The thieves reportedly operated by staying near railway stations and executed their crimes in nearby areas.
The arrests were made under the leadership of SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad, City Police Station In-charge Devvrat Poddar, and Rehla, Latehar Police Station In-charge.
