JAMSHEDPUR – A colorful Hare Krishna procession marked the onset of a three-day festival in Medininagar.
The procession, starting from Geeta Bhavan, filled the city streets with the vibrant sounds of “Hare Krishna Mahamantra” on Saturday. The event celebrates the Hare Krishna Festival, scheduled from December 29 to 31 at the Sanskrit College grounds near Sahitya Samaj Chowk.
City Enthralled by Spiritual Procession
Led by ISKCON members, the procession showcased spiritual fervor and devotion. Hundreds of devotees, including men and women, adorned with spiritual attire, chanted and danced to kirtans. The sight of ISKCON’s founder Srila Prabhupada’s decorated image added to the procession’s grandeur.
Highlights of the Festival
Dr. Keshav Anand Das, a preacher from Badrika Ashram, will headline the event with his insightful spiritual talks. Daily activities include Harinam Sankirtan, dance performances, and devotional dramas starting at 5 PM. The participation of devotees from Vrindavan, Mayapur, and Badrika Ashram provided a cultural touch.
Route and Participants
The procession traversed major city points, including Town Police Station, Dabur Chowk, and Hira Mandir Road, before returning to its origin. Eminent attendees included former Deputy Mayor Rakesh Singh and community leaders like Arvind Singh and Dhruv Singh, alongside numerous devotees.
