Railway Line Doubling Survey Ordered for Tatanagar-Badampahar
New mineral transport centre planned in Badampahar, Odisha
South Eastern Railway Zone initiates survey for Tatanagar-Badampahar rail line doubling, aiming to improve mineral transportation and passenger services.
JAMSHEDPUR – The South Eastern Railway Zone has commissioned a survey and detailed project report for doubling the Tatanagar to Badampahar rail line, addressing growing transportation needs.
The project, previously included in the three-year action plan, follows discussions with Jharkhand’s Governor and Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto.
The survey will also encompass new rail lines in West Bengal and Odisha.
Enhanced connectivity and reduced travel times are expected outcomes of this initiative.
The project aims to support increased rail traffic on the crucial Howrah-Mumbai and Odisha routes.
A new mineral transportation and revenue centre is being planned in Badampahar, Odisha.
This centre will connect key locations such as Amlajodi, Gurumahisani, and Nayagarh.
The Prime Minister recently approved new railway lines from Badampahar to Keonjhar and Gurumahisani to Bangriposi.
These expansions are designed to manage rising train loads on major routes.
Travel times to Puri and Bhubaneswar are expected to decrease as a result of these developments.
The new centre will facilitate smoother transit of goods to Paradip port.
This infrastructure development is poised to significantly boost regional economic growth.
