Soren Highlights Government’s Achievements on Independence Day

Jharkhand’s Chief Minister unveils plans for employment and social welfare during Independence Day address.

RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren of Jharkhand outlined his government’s initiatives and accomplishments during the 78th Independence Day celebration at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground.

In his address, Soren emphasized the government’s commitment to job creation and youth employment.

He announced that recruitment for 35,000 positions, including constables and assistant professors, would be completed by October 2024.

The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to boost employment opportunities in the state.

He mentioned that memorandums of understanding (MoUs) have been signed with five industrial units, potentially creating 6,000 job opportunities.

Soren claimed that over 200,000 young individuals have found employment in the private sector through government-run training programs.

The government’s focus on rural development was also stressed during the speech.

Soren stated that his administration has reached out to every village and household over the past four and a half years.

He touted the provision of three-room houses to the poor under the Abua Awas Yojana.

The Chief Minister announced the implementation of the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY).

This scheme aims to provide monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to women aged 21 to 50 years.

Soren later posted on social media that over 3.6 million women had successfully registered for the scheme.

Education and healthcare were also addressed in the Chief Minister’s speech.

He revealed plans to upgrade over 4,000 Panchayat-level schools to model schools within two years.

Soren introduced the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, a healthcare scheme offering ₹15 lakh per family annually in health insurance.

The Chief Minister took a veiled swipe at the opposition, accusing "anti-development forces" of attempting to hinder Jharkhand’s progress.

"Our government’s first priority is to link youths of the state with employment," Soren was quoted as saying, emphasizing his administration’s focus on job creation.
