5 kg IED Planted by Naxals Neutralized in Chaibasa’s Tonto Area

Security forces recover and destroy a 5 kg IED near Rajabasa in an ongoing anti-Naxal operation.

Security forces in Chaibasa’s Tonto area successfully neutralized a 5 kg IED planted by Naxals on Wednesday.

CHAIBASA – In a significant operation, security forces in Chaibasa’s Tonto area discovered and neutralized a 5 kg IED (Improvised Explosive Device) planted by Naxals near the Vanagram Rajabasa jungle.

The explosive, which was intended to target security personnel, was found during a routine patrol in the hilly and forested region.

The bomb disposal squad was immediately called to the scene, and the IED was safely destroyed on-site to prevent any potential harm.

This operation is part of a larger, ongoing effort by the district police and CRPF to combat Naxal activities in the region.

For several months, these forces have been conducting intensive searches and operations aimed at disrupting and dismantling the networks of CPI Maoist militants in the area.

The successful neutralization of this IED highlights the persistent threat posed by Naxal elements and the continued vigilance required to ensure the safety and security of the region.

The anti-Naxal operations are expected to continue as security forces remain committed to eradicating these threats from the area.
