IAS Reshuffle in Jharkhand: Key Departments See Changes

Top bureaucrats reassigned in major administrative overhaul by state government

The Jharkhand government has executed a significant reshuffling of IAS officers, impacting several key departments.

RANCHI – A major administrative reorganization has been implemented by the Jharkhand government, resulting in the transfer and reassignment of numerous high-ranking IAS officials across various departments.

Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, formerly the Principal Secretary to the Governor, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperative Department.

Mastram Meena, previously the Principal Secretary of the Planning and Development Department, is now the Principal Secretary of the Pir Janemar Cleanliness Department.

Sunil Kumar, who was heading the Road Construction Department, has been given charge of the Urban Development and Housing Department as Principal Secretary. He will also serve as the Managing Director of the Greater Ranchi Development Agency.

Additional Responsibilities

Several officials have been given additional charges alongside their primary roles. For instance, Umashankar Singh, previously in charge of School Education, will now oversee the Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Department.

"This reshuffle aims to optimize administrative efficiency and bring fresh perspectives to various departments," stated a senior government official, who wished to remain anonymous.

Municipal Changes

Amit Kumar, formerly the Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes until further orders.

Sandeep Singh, who was heading the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Committee, is now the Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi. He will also serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Ranchi Regional Development Authority.
