JAMSHEDPUR – NIT Jamshedpur’s Mechanical Engineering Department started a training program on advanced composite materials with nationwide participation.

The initiative runs from January 20-24 in hybrid mode. It covers emerging composite technologies.

“These materials will revolutionize transportation,” Prof. Sutradhar stated. He discussed metal-matrix composites.

Expert Sessions

IIT Hyderabad Director Prof. Murty inaugurated the event. The program drew participants from academia and industry.

Meanwhile, CSIR and DRDO scientists shared defense applications. Dr. Srivastava presented aerospace innovations.

Research Focus

Dr. Upadhyay introduced food waste polymer composites. This explores sustainable material options.

Moreover, CSIR-NIIST scientist Dr. Rajan discussed processing innovations. The sessions continue through January 24.

Technology Applications

The program covers automotive efficiency improvements. Metal-matrix composites offer weight reduction benefits.

However, discussions extend beyond transportation. Defense and aerospace applications receive special focus.
