Key Accused in Rahul Bachcha Murder Surrenders

Shabbe Cites Fear For Life Before Giving Up

Key Points:

  • Shabbe surrenders before police with associates in Jamshedpur
  • Accused claims threats from Rahul drove him to act first
  • Police begin verifying statement, probe other suspects

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur police recorded a major breakthrough on Thursday in the widely reported Rahul Bachcha murder case after the prime accused walked into the station with several associates and gave himself up.

Shabbe, identified as the main accused in the killing, reached the concerned police station along with a few companions and surrendered before officers on duty. Investigators immediately began questioning him about the circumstances of the crime.

During interrogation, Shabbe reportedly told police that he took the drastic step to protect his own life. He claimed Rahul had been repeatedly threatening to kill him and members of his family in the days before the incident.

According to his account, he feared that Rahul would have murdered him first had he not acted. Driven by this fear and mounting stress, he allegedly conspired with his associates to plan and carry out the killing.

Meanwhile, officers are examining the veracity of Shabbe’s statement in detail. The police are also working to determine the roles played by the other men allegedly involved in the murder and the broader conspiracy behind it.

Officials said a thorough and impartial investigation into every aspect of the case is underway. Further legal action, they added, will depend on the evidence gathered during the probe.

Investigators have not ruled out additional arrests as the inquiry progresses. Similar cases in the region, including the Tabrez Ansari case, have previously drawn wide attention to law and order issues in East Singhbhum district.

Local residents have followed the case closely since it first came to light. The station has seen a steady stream of visitors seeking updates, similar to the attention drawn by other recent incidents such as the lady constable case and the Burmamines shooting earlier this year.

Police have also pointed to the murder of a local BJP leader as an example of how swift surrenders and confessions have aided recent investigations in the district.
