Moharda Drinking Water Project Phase-2 Gets Green Light
Rs 8 crore plan to benefit 500 families; new tanks and treatment plant approved
A high-level meeting chaired by MLA Saryu Roy approved the Moharda Drinking Water Project Phase-2, estimated at Rs 8 crore.
JAMSHEDPUR – Officials approved the Rs 8 crore Moharda Drinking Water Project Phase-2, aimed at providing clean water to 500 families in Birsanagar.
The project includes constructing two water tanks with a combined capacity of 3.6 lakh kilo-liters.
A 2.4 lakh kilo-liter tank will be built near Telco’s Bhuvaneshwari Temple.
Another tank with a 1.2 lakh kilo-liter capacity will be constructed near the GSR water tank in Birsanagar.
The plan also includes a new water treatment plant and intake well to ensure consistent clean water supply.
A seven-kilometer pipeline will be laid, with work set to begin within 15 days in various Birsanagar areas.
The foundation stone for the water tanks is scheduled to be laid on August 27.
MLA Saryu Roy stressed the importance of planning for future population growth up to 2054.
The meeting resolved to repair existing water tanks and construct boundary walls for infrastructure security.
Key attendees included JNAC Deputy City Commissioner Krishna Kumar and Tata Steel UISL General Manager.
