Surinder Pal Appointed as Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway

Surinder Pal takes charge as the new Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.

Surinder Pal has been appointed as the new Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway, bringing extensive experience and qualifications to his new role in Kolkata.

JAMSHEDPUR – Surinder Pal has taken over the role of Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata, effective 5th August 2024.

Surinder Pal previously served as the Chief Project Manager at the Rail Land Development Authority in Chandigarh.

An IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) officer from the 1990 batch, he joined Indian Railways in March 1992.

After completing his probation period, he was assigned to the prestigious Jammu-Udhampur Rail Link project in 1994.

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from NIT, Kurukshetra, and a postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

Surinder Pal has held several significant positions throughout his career.

These include Divisional Engineer in Allahabad, Deputy Chief Engineer/Bridges in New Delhi, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) in Delhi, and Senior Divisional Engineer in Northern Railway, Ambala.

He also served as Director/Vigilance at the Railway Board, Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) in Northern Railway, Ambala, and Chief Project Manager at Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited.

He has received training from prestigious institutions such as the National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara, the Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune, the Indian School of Business, Mohali, INSEAD/Singapore, and ICLIF/Malaysia.

Surinder Pal has extensive experience in planning, land acquisition, tendering, and execution of various rail line projects.

These include ROBs, RUBs, LHS, the National Project of Jammu-Udhampur Rail Link, and the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor from Ludhiana to Telheri Bujurg.

Apart from his professional achievements, he is interested in sports, railway history, heritage, and socio-cultural activities.
