Jharkhand CM Launches Health Worker Attendance Portal
New digital system aims to improve healthcare services across the state
The portal will ensure daily attendance tracking and cross-verification for all health department staff.
RANCHI – Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated an "Attendance Portal" to monitor healthcare workers’ daily presence.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing medical facilities.
He stated, "We are continuously striving to provide superior healthcare services in government hospitals and health centers."
The initiative encompasses improvements across various levels of healthcare facilities:
– Sub-health centers
– Primary health centers
– Community health centers
– Sub-divisional hospitals
– District hospitals
– Medical colleges and hospitals
Focus areas include:
1. Maintenance and repairs
2. Medical resources
3. Diagnostic facilities
4. Medication availability
24/7 Operational District Hospitals
Mr. Soren stressed the importance of making district hospitals fully operational round-the-clock.
He directed officials to ensure the availability of specialist doctors and comprehensive surgical facilities.
"Our aim is to minimize patient referrals to other hospitals," the Chief Minister remarked.
He also advocated for specialist consultations in outpatient departments (OPDs) of district hospitals.
Connecting Rural and Urban Healthcare
The Chief Minister proposed establishing 24-hour communication channels between primary health sub-centers, health centers, and district hospitals.
This system aims to facilitate seamless patient transfers when advanced treatment is required.
Optimizing Human Resources
Mr. Soren called for maximum utilization of available human resources across all healthcare facilities.
He suggested the flexible deployment of medical staff between hospitals to meet varying needs, while cautioning against disrupting existing services.
Addressing Absenteeism and Monitoring
The Chief Minister acknowledged complaints about healthcare provider absenteeism.
He urged for robust monitoring systems, including:
– Hospital management systems
– CCTV surveillance
– Wi-Fi connectivity
– Continuous oversight at district and headquarters levels
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Banna Gupta, Chief Secretary L. Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, and Health Department Principal Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh.
