Rising Water Levels in Kharkai and Subarnarekha Rivers Alert Jamshedpur Authorities

Due to continuous rainfall, the water levels in the Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers have been rising, prompting authorities to advise caution.

JAMSHEDPUR – Continuous rainfall in the region has led to rising water levels in the Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers. Although both rivers are currently below the danger mark, the district administration has issued an alert for residents in the coastal and low-lying areas to stay vigilant and safe.

Safety Advisory

The district administration has urged citizens to avoid going near the riverbanks to prevent any potential loss of life or property.

Residents are advised to follow the guidelines issued by the authorities strictly.

The administration emphasized staying in safe, elevated areas until the water levels recede.

Current Water Levels

Subarnarekha River:

– Danger level: 121.50 meters

– Present level: 116.56 meters (at Mango Bridge Site)

Kharkai River:

– Danger level: 129.00 meters

– Present level: 126.81 meters (at Adityapur Bridge Site)

The administration continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary.
