MEDININAGAR – A peaceful protest against rising atrocities on girls and women was held on Thursday at the Medininagar court premises.
Artists and activists from IPTA, Kashish Art, Anshu Art, Rang Sang Art Academy, Progressive Writers Association, and Mission Samriddhi joined forces for the demonstration. Posters condemned the incident at the Panchvati Nagar girls’ shelter home and urged swift justice.
One of the protest leaders, Sheela Srivastava of Mission Samriddhi, emphasized societal accountability. She remarked, “Parents must focus on their sons’ behavior instead of unnecessarily restricting daughters.” She also called for women to challenge domestic issues such as questioning husbands’ delayed arrivals.
Voices Against Injustice
Demonstrators highlighted that such incidents are not new. They demanded judicial inquiries to expose those responsible. Several posters urged the public to “break their silence” and actively oppose these crimes. A striking poster read, “Cleaning minds and attitudes is more vital than cleaning homes.”
Another significant demand was the installation of CCTV cameras in critical areas. Activists stressed the need for cameras at city intersections, educational institutions, and surrounding streets to ensure safety.
