No Trace of Sumit Modi 48 Hours After Drowning Incident in Asangi Check Dam
NDRF continues search operation; rescue efforts to resume on Wednesday.
Despite extensive efforts by the NDRF team from Ranchi, Sumit Modi, who drowned while bathing in the under-construction Asangi check dam in RIT police station area, Saraikela district, remains missing 48 hours after the incident.
JAMSHEDPUR – Even after 48 hours, Sumit Modi, who perished while bathing in the under-construction Asangi check dam in Saraikela’s RIT police station area on Sunday, remains untraceable.
On Tuesday, the NDRF team from Ranchi attempted to cross-check from the Asangi check dam to Baroda Ghat by boat; however, their endeavor was unsuccessful.
Throughout the day, the rescue team was accompanied by former Ward Councillor Dhiren Mahato, Gamharia Zonal Officer Kamal Kishore, and former Vice President of Adityapur Municipal Council Purendra Narayan Singh.
Regrettably, the rescue operation was discontinued late Tuesday evening as a result of its failure to achieve success. The search will recommence on Wednesday.
Manohar Karmakar, Ghanshyam Mandal, Panchak Lohar, Arun Mandal, Babu Sardar, Soje Besra, Surya Mohan Modi, and Rohit were among the local residents who were present at the site for the duration of the day.
It is important to note that the body of Aditya Mahato, another juvenile who perished in the incident, was recovered on Monday, approximately 1.5 kilometers from the site of the incident.
