Elderly Man Electrocuted in Jamshedpur Police Line

65-year-old water motor operator dies on duty; family blames Tata Steel UISL negligence

A tragic incident in Jamshedpur’s police line resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man due to electrocution.

JAMSHEDPUR – A 65-year-old water motor operator died from electrocution at the police line under Golmuri police station on Monday morning.

Khemlal Nishad, a resident of Golmuri Garabasa, was found dead at the scene of the incident.

Local residents promptly informed Nishad’s family about the tragedy.

Upon arrival, the family began accusing Tata Steel UISL of negligence in the matter.

Golmuri police took custody of Nishad’s body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Himanshu, the deceased’s grandson, revealed that his grandfather had been working as a water motor operator in the police line for an extended period.

On the day of the incident, Khemlal had gone to work as usual, but at 11 am, the family received news of his electrocution from the police line.

When Himanshu reached the scene, he found his grandfather’s body lying beside an electric wire, indicating that death had occurred on the spot.

A Tata Steel vehicle was observed at the location, collecting and removing the fallen wire that was allegedly responsible for the electrocution.

Himanshu firmly stated that his grandfather’s death was a result of negligence on the part of Tata Steel.

The incident has raised questions about workplace safety and the maintenance of electrical infrastructure in the area.
