Jamshedpur Intensifies Fight Against Illegal Mining

New Task Force to Enforce Stricter Regulations and Conduct Regular Raids

District officials launch comprehensive strategy to combat unauthorized mining activities, protect revenue, and ensure environmental compliance.

JAMSHEDPUR – A newly established task force has been established by local authorities to implement a comprehensive campaign to prevent illegal mining operations and enforce stringent regulations.

Unauthorized excavation and mineral transportation will be addressed by the District Mining Task Force, which was recently established.

The task force’s operations and efficacy were evaluated during a high-level meeting, which was presided over by District Magistrate Ananya Mittal.

Sand ghat management, brick kiln inspections, and coordination with the forest department are among the numerous components of the comprehensive strategy that pertain to mining regulation.

Mittal underscored the importance of consistent raids and stringent adherence to the National Green Tribunal’s guidelines in the fight against illegal mining activities during the meeting.

In order to impede the illegal transportation of minerals, authorities have been instructed to take action against vehicles that lack appropriate identification and those that exceed load limits.

The Pollution Board has been assigned the responsibility of conducting an inspection of all brick kilns in the district and guaranteeing the complete collection of revenue for the current fiscal year.

In order to alleviate the effects of mining operations on the local ecosystem, environmental protection measures will be implemented.

"This task force represents a significant step towards addressing illegal mining challenges and ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards," a government representative said.

The initiative is designed to protect natural resources, promote responsible mining practices, and safeguard government revenue in the region.
