JAMSHEDPUR – Distinguished war veteran to participate in Silver Jubilee commemoration of Kargil victory.

Jamshedpur is set to welcome a distinguished military veteran for a special patriotic event this weekend.

Air Vice Marshal HP Singh, recipient of the Veer Chakra and Vishisht Seva Medal, will visit the city on Sunday, July 28.

The decorated officer will take part in the Kargil Vijay Diwas Silver Jubilee celebrations.

"We’re honored to host such a revered war hero in our city," expressed a local organizer.

AVM Singh serves as the Senior National Vice President of the All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council.

His visit coincides with the council’s commemorative event for the 25th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil conflict.

The veteran’s military career spans two major conflicts, including the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971.

During the 1971 war, AVM Singh’s bravery in aerial missions over East Pakistan earned him the prestigious Veer Chakra.

"His courageous bombing runs were crucial in destroying enemy strategic bases," noted a military historian.

Local ex-servicemen are eagerly preparing a grand reception for the esteemed guest.

State Vice President Rajesh Pandey highlighted the visit’s main objective: inspiring patriotism among the youth.

"In these changing times, it’s vital to rekindle love for our nation in the younger generation," Pandey stated.

AVM Singh will review the council’s district-level programs during his stay.

He is also scheduled to engage in strategic discussions with council members about future initiatives.

The visit is expected to boost morale among local veterans and inspire the city’s residents.

This event underscores Jamshedpur’s commitment to honoring military service and fostering national pride.
