Water Workers Petition Local MLA for Better Conditions

Jharkhand’s Jal Sahiyas seek government action on five-point demand list

Community water facilitators appeal for improved working conditions and benefits through political intervention in West Singhbhum district.

JAMSHEDPUR – Water workers from Jagannathpur and Noamundi blocks met with MLA Sonaram Sinku to present their grievances and seek support.

Members of the Jharkhand State Jal Sahiya Union’s West Singhbhum district unit visited Mr. Sinku’s residence to submit a five-point demand letter.

The MLA acknowledged the legitimacy of the Jal Sahiyas’ requests and promised to address their concerns.

Mr. Sinku assured the delegation that he would promptly bring the matter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s attention.

A thorough discussion was held regarding each point mentioned in the submitted document.

This move is part of a statewide initiative where Jal Sahiyas are approaching their respective legislators.

Water workers across Jharkhand are urging their representatives to help fulfill their demands through government action.

The Jagannathpur Jal Sahiyas’ visit to Mr. Sinku’s home exemplifies this ongoing campaign.

"We’re hopeful that our elected officials will champion our cause and help improve our working conditions," stated a Jal Sahiya spokesperson present at the meeting.
