Deputy Commissioner Reviews Education Initiatives in Jamshedpur

Education department review focuses on environmental awareness, student enrollment, and compliance.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal held an extensive review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium to discuss key educational initiatives and administrative compliance in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal led a thorough review session with the education department at the Collectorate Auditorium.

The meeting saw participation from Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, District Education Superintendent Ashish Pandey, District Education Officer Manoj Kumar, and other departmental officials and staff.

A major focus was on creating eco clubs and planting trees in government schools to promote environmental awareness.

So far, 1519 out of 1597 schools have established eco clubs, with the remaining schools instructed to form clubs soon.

In the review of the Chief Minister’s School of Excellence, it was noted that 2350 of the 2818 available seats have been filled, with the remaining 468 seats to be filled by July 31.

All teachers are required to mark their attendance daily in the E Vidyavahini system.

A recent attendance check on July 15 found that 1097 teachers from 1546 schools did not register their attendance, leading to strict orders to withhold their salaries for the unmarked days.

Additionally, only 844 schools had submitted student attendance, prompting the need for daily updates from all school principals.

For KGBV schools, it was mandated to complete the enrollment from the waiting list by July 31 for 42 seats in classes 9 and 11 at Dumaria KGBV and 11 seats in class 11 at Baharagora KGBV.

Aadhar cards have been issued to 97.11% of students in government schools, with 5000 still pending.

Camps will be set up to complete this task.

Additionally, 45,511 students from private schools have not submitted their Aadhar numbers.

Principals have been given a 15-day deadline to ensure compliance.

In reviewing student bank accounts, it was found that 12,782 out of 1,71,244 students do not have a bank account.

Instructions were given to open accounts for all students by the end of the month to ensure they receive scholarship funds and other benefits.

The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana aims to benefit 30,218 girl students, with 11,500 forms received so far.

BEEOs were directed to collect and submit forms to the District Social Welfare Office promptly.

All blocks were instructed to send their bicycle demands for the 2024-25 financial year to the District Welfare Office.

The distribution of textbooks is to be reviewed and recorded in e-Vidyavahini.

Immediate arrangements for solar panels in 10 remote schools without electricity were ordered, along with coordination with the Electricity Department for a permanent solution.

Rainwater harvesting systems are to be installed in all government schools, with 329 already completed.

BDOs were directed to expedite the remaining installations through MNREGA convergence.

A district-level workshop under the Ruar program is scheduled for July 20, 2024, at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium, Sakchi.

All principals were instructed to ensure class-wise transitions, with invitations extended to MPs, MLAs, and panchayat heads.

The meeting concluded with the attendance of BEEOs, BPOs, KGBV wardens, and other education department officials and staff.
