Lack of Anganwadi Center in Rangamatia Village Deprives Children of Nutrition

Former MLA Kunal Sarangi Visits Village, Promises Action

Children in Rangamatia village, Chakulia block, are missing out on essential nutrition due to the absence of an Anganwadi center.

JAMSHEDPUR – Children in Rangamatia village of Baramara Panchayat, Chakulia block, are deprived of nutrition services due to the lack of an Anganwadi center.

Former MLA Kunal Sarangi visited the village after receiving information from the villagers.

The villagers informed Sarangi that Rangamatia is included in the Jamdohri Anganwadi’s service area, which is 5 km away and falls under the Jamua Panchayat.

Sarangi criticized the situation, stating, "While one department dreams of making Jharkhand malnutrition-free, the children of Rangamatia are deprived of nutritious food because no parent would want to send their children to an Anganwadi 5 km away through dense forests."

Villagers also mentioned that the primary school in the village has been merged, forcing children to travel 3 km through the forest to attend Tangasol Primary School.

The Baramara Panchayat in Chakulia block is recognized as an elephant-affected area, causing significant fear among children and parents.

The villagers are demanding the establishment of a mini Anganwadi center in Rangamatia.

Sarangi assured them that he would meet with departmental officials to expedite the process of setting up a mini Anganwadi center in the village.

Present at the meeting were villagers Sohrai Murmu, Dasrath Hansda, Budhu Gop, and others.

The absence of an Anganwadi center highlights the need for accessible nutrition and education facilities in rural areas, especially those affected by wildlife.

The visit by Sarangi has brought some hope to the villagers, who are now awaiting action from the authorities.
