District Administration Approves New Ultrasound Facilities, Emphasizes Strict Compliance

JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate Ananya Mittal chaired a crucial review meeting of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (P.C.P & D.T.) at the Collectorate Auditorium, focusing on regulating ultrasound centers in the district.
"Our priority is to ensure ethical practices and prevent misuse of diagnostic technologies," Mittal stated during the meeting.
Key Decisions:
8 existing ultrasound centers’ licenses renewed
2 new centers approved
6 applications rejected due to incomplete documentation
Regulatory Measures:
Ban on sex determination reaffirmed
Regular and surprise inspections to be conducted
Portable ultrasound machines prohibited within the district
Limit of two doctors or technicians during examinations
Operational Guidelines:
Mandatory signage against female foeticide
Examinations only for pregnant women with valid prescriptions
Comprehensive reporting required, excluding gender information
Online submission of Form-F mandatory between 2nd-4th of each month
"These regulations are crucial for preventing the misuse of diagnostic techniques and upholding ethical medical practices," Mittal emphasized.
Notable attendees included PD ITDA Dipankar Choudhary, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, and other key health department officials.
